Sustainable Logistics

About

The focus is on optimizing the entire logistics chain—from suppliers to end-users (labs/hospitals) and for waste collection—to improve efficiency and reduce CO}_2$ emissions. Key projects include implementing reusable shipping boxes for various temperature needs and reusable containers for waste collection. This is complemented by developing algorithms for transport optimization, promoting the use of combined transport solutions (e.g., rail and road), and replacing traditional delivery fleets with electric or hybrid vehicles to achieve net-zero transport goals.

Optimize Logistics and Transport Solutions

Improve transportation footprint via reusable containers, algorithm-based route optimization, combined transport, and electric vehicles.

  • Reusable Shipping boxes: Collaborate with suppliers and customers to implement compatible, reusable shipping boxes for laboratory supplies.

  • Introduce reusable containers for medical and laboratory waste collection. (Waste management)

  • Algorithm to optimize the transport, storage and bulk ordering across multiple users.

  • Manufacture at point of use where possible.

  • Promote combined transport solutions that leverage multiple modes (e.g., rail and road) for efficiency. (Distribution & Logistics)

  • Replace traditional vehicles with electric or hybrid alternatives to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. (Distribution & Logistics)

  • Educating the customers, hospitals e.g. to share warehouses.

  • Green Logistics: Optimisation towards net-zero transport from production place to consumer (including plane, packaging, etc.).
